Creation of the Committee

The Garrett County Commissioners officially appointed the new members of the Commissioners' Marcellus Shale Advisory Committee on Tuesday, October 15.

Previous Committee History:

February 20, 2013:

The Commissioners thanked the members for their time, talent, and dedication to the Board of County Commissioners Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Advisory Committee.   The Board took under advisement the survey that asked members for comments and options on the future of the Committee.   The Board has decided to defer meetings until a time when there is a better idea what direction State Government will be taking as it relates to drilling for natural gas in Garrett County.  The Board will also be reviewing what the primary objectives of the committee's mission will be and members will be provided with a more definitive and conclusive advisory capacity guidelines.

The commissioners also thanked Chair Rodney Glotfelty for his leadership.   He will be stepping down as chairperson of the Committee due to Health Department issues that will require more of his time.
